Itinerary

Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our Summit Expeditions representative and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, take some time to rest or explore the local area. In the evening, we will host a comprehensive briefing session. This orientation will cover all necessary trek details, ensure your equipment is adequate, and introduce you to our trekking strategy. Conclude your day with a welcome dinner where you’ll enjoy traditional Nepalese cuisine, giving you a taste of the local culture and an opportunity to bond with your fellow trekkers.
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel before heading to the domestic airport for a short but scenic flight to Pokhara. Marvel at the aerial views of Nepal’s landscape as you approach. Once in Pokhara, a brief drive to Nayapul serves as the real starting point of your trek. From Nayapul, hike to Hile, enjoying the lush surroundings and the rhythmic sounds of the river. The trek continues with a steady climb on ancient stone steps leading to Ulleri, a picturesque village that provides a perfect backdrop for your first night on the trail.
Today’s trek will lead you through enchanting rhododendron forests and alongside babbling brooks, with occasional breaks at small tea houses for refreshments. As you ascend to higher elevations, the forest canopy opens up to reveal mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Ghorepani, nestled at an altitude of 2,750 meters, is a welcoming village known for its water sources which historically quenched the thirst of horses carrying trade goods across mountain passes. This location offers spectacular early morning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Embark on an early morning adventure, waking up while it’s still dark and beginning your ascent to Poon Hill. This pre-dawn hike is designed to position you atop one of the Annapurna region’s most famous viewpoints just as the sun begins to rise. The relatively short but steep climb takes about an hour, and as you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most spectacular sunrises you can witness in the Himalayas. The panorama from Poon Hill includes a breathtaking array of high peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Annapurna I, all glowing in the early morning light. This moment, with the mountains bathed in hues of orange, gold, and pink, makes the early start worthwhile and is a highlight for many trekkers. After soaking in the sunrise and perhaps taking countless photos, descend back to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. Reenergized, continue your trek through rhododendron forests, occasionally crossing streams and enjoying the lush, vibrant surroundings as you make your way to Tadapani. The path offers peace and tranquility, allowing for reflection on the morning’s spectacular events. A As the day progresses, descend to Ghandruk, a major Gurung village known for its rich culture and history, home to many ex-Gurkha soldiers. Spend some time exploring the village and visiting the Gurung Museum, where you can learn more about the local customs and the community’s significant contributions to the Gurkha regiments.
Today, you’ll experience a variety of terrains and local cultures as you trek from Ghandruk to Dhampus via Landrung. Begin with a descent to the Modi River, crossing a sturdy suspension bridge before ascending through aromatic pine forests to Landruk. Enjoy a hearty lunch in this charming village before continuing through serene landscapes to Dhampus, known for its panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna range. Dhampus is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and reflect on the journey thus far.
Your trek concludes with a gentle descent from Dhampus to Phedi. This final stretch offers peaceful walks through lush fields and small villages, providing one last glimpse into rural Nepalese life. Upon reaching Phedi, a short drive will take you back to Pokhara, where the rest of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake or explore the vibrant Lakeside Bazaar.
After a leisurely breakfast, head to the airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure, perhaps visiting the bustling markets or relaxing in a café. In the evening, you will have dinner and celebrate the successful completion of your trek.
Spend the morning visiting the charity you’ve supported, engaging with its projects and gaining insights into its impacts. After lunch, embark on a guided tour of Kathmandu’s historical landmarks, exploring ancient temples and vibrant street markets. This culturally rich day provides a deeper understanding of Nepal’s heritage and the daily lives of its people.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel before your departure. Depending on your flight time, you may have a few final moments to say goodbye to the city. Transfer to the airport ensures a smooth departure, concluding your memorable journey through Nepal.
