Day 03: Dharapani to Chame (2650m)
Today, we head towards Chame, the charming district headquarters of Manang, famously known as “the district beyond the Himalayas.” As you trek towards this serene mountain town nestled in the lap of Annapurna II (7,937m), you’ll be treated to some truly breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The day’s walk will take about five hours, giving you plenty of time to immerse yourself in the beauty of the landscape. Day 04: Chame to Pisang (3,300m)
A steep and narrow path through a very dense forest will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. This is probably the steepest part of the Marshyangdi Valley, so steep that the trail is carved into the vertical rock. After passing this last bit of rock, the valley opens up with majestic vistas. And right where the valley widens stands the Paungda Danda, a massive sloping rock face that rises over 5,000ft (1500m) above the trail. We trek for a while before reaching Lower Pisang where we spend the night. Over night at tea house. Include Meal B/L/D.
Day 05: Pisang to Manang (3520m)
Today’s trek begins with a gradual, flat walk, followed by a one-hour climb to the beautiful Ghyaru village. This picturesque village offers stunning views and a glimpse into traditional mountain life. From Ghyaru, we continue along a gradual path towards Nawal village, where we’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch. Afterward, we’ll trek gradually downhill and uphill to reach Manang, a vibrant mountain village rich in Tibetan Buddhist culture. The trek today takes about five hours, offering magnificent views of the Annapurna range’s towering peaks. The serene mountain atmosphere will enhance your experience, making each step feel like a peaceful escape into the heart of the Himalayas. Overnight will be spent in a cozy tea house, where you’ll enjoy a hearty meal (B/L/D) and rest for the journey ahead.
Day 06: Manang Acclimatization Day
Today is a well-deserved rest day in Manang, allowing your body to acclimatize to the high altitude. Use this opportunity to explore the stunning local area, including the serene Gangapurna Glacier and the tranquil Gangapurna Lake, both of which offer incredible views and a peaceful atmosphere. The day is all about taking it slow, adjusting to the altitude, and soaking in the beauty of the surrounding mountains. Take short walks around the village, visit the local monasteries, and enjoy the unique Tibetan Buddhist culture that defines this region. A relaxed day here will help ensure you’re well-prepared for the trekking ahead. Enjoy a comfortable stay at the tea house in Manang, with meals (B/L/D) provided.
DAY 07: Trek from Manang to Sirikharka (4060M)
The trek from Manang to Siri Kharka is a more relaxed day, offering a break before the tougher sections ahead. We’ll take the upper route, which leads us down to a river, where we’ll cross and continue along a path that winds through lush coniferous forests. After about three hours of trekking, we’ll pass through the Tibetan settlement of Khangsar, though we’ll push on a bit further to reach Siri Kharka, our destination for the day. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of Gungang Himal and the majestic Mt. Chulu, both of which make for incredible photo opportunities. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful landscapes will keep you captivated throughout the journey. After reaching Siri Kharka, we’ll rest for the night in a cozy tea house, with meals (B/L/D) included, and recharge for the next day’s adventure.
Day 08: Trek from Sirikharka Tilicho Base Camp (4150)
On day eight, we’ll depart from Siri Kharka in the morning and begin our trek toward Tilicho Base Camp. The path is relatively straightforward but does pass through some landslide-prone areas, so we’ll need to stay cautious. As we trek, the views become more and more breathtaking, with impressive rock formations and towering snow-capped peaks surrounding us. One of the most striking sights will be Tilicho Peak itself, standing majestically in the distance. The beauty of the landscape—along with the serene mountain atmosphere—will make this day unforgettable. Once we arrive at Tilicho Base Camp, we’ll settle in for the night at a tea house, where we’ll enjoy hearty meals (B/L/D) and rest up for the exciting days to come.
Day 09: Visit Tilicho Lake (4850m) then Back to Sirikharka (4060m.)
This is one of the special days of the trek as we will be viewing Tilicho Lake itself. But we start our day early in the morning at Tilicho Base Camp to avoid afternoon wind. The path is quite steep, and after laboring for two to three hours, we will reach Tilicho Lake – one of the highest lakes in the world. A well-known French expedition team referred to Tilicho Lake as The Great Ice Lake. Tilicho Lake sits surrounded by the majestic peaks – Tilicho Himal, Annapurna Range, and Nilgiri Himal. After enjoying the views of Tilicho Lake, we retrace our path back to Siri Kharka, where we will be spending our night. Overnight at tea house. Include Meal B/L/D.
Day 10: Trek from Sirikharka Yak Kharka (4070m)
Today, we descend from Siri Kharka toward the uninhabited Khangsar Village, passing through a landscape rich in history and natural beauty. Along the way, we’ll visit Tare Gumba, a thousand-year-old monastery that offers a glimpse into the region’s spiritual heritage. Continuing on, we’ll follow a rock wall that guides us out of Khangsar and leads us into the Thorong Khola Valley. Our journey then takes us to Yak Kharka, a scenic spot where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna mountain range. Keep your eyes peeled, as this area is known for its wildlife—if you’re lucky, you might catch sight of blue sheep grazing on the slopes, or even a rare snow leopard in the distance. After a day filled with stunning vistas and a touch of adventure, we’ll reach our tea house for the night, where you can enjoy a warm meal and rest (B/L/D) before the next day’s trek.
Day 11: Yak kharka to Thorongphedi or high Camp (4400m)
After a hearty breakfast in the morning, we’ll start our trek toward Thorong Phedi, the base of the famous Thorong La Pass. This will be a slower-paced, 5-hour walk, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the stunning mountain surroundings as we gradually make our way to the base camp. The path offers spectacular views, and the cool, crisp mountain air adds to the serenity of the journey. Once we reach Thorong Phedi, we’ll settle into our tea house for the night, surrounded by the towering peaks and tranquil atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to rest, recharge, and mentally prepare for the challenging pass ahead. Enjoy a peaceful evening with meals (B/L/D) included before tackling Thorong La in the coming days.
Day 12: Thorongphedi or high Camp to Thorong passes (5416m) Muktinath (3800m).

After breakfast, we’ll begin our trek toward Jomsom, starting with a flat walk and then gradually ascending through scenic terrain, with stunning views of Dhaulagiri Mountain in the distance. As we continue, we’ll descend into the picturesque Lubra village, which sits on a steep, barren hillside. From there, we’ll tumble down toward the Kali Gandaki River, one of the most powerful rivers in the region, and then continue to Jomsom. The journey today offers surreal landscapes, trekking along a plateau above the Kali Gandaki, known as the world’s deepest gorge. The barren, rugged landscape here mirrors the Tibetan plateau, adding a sense of mysticism to the trek.
